ㅤㅤHēiyù is born in your typical Asian-American family with Chinese lineage. Her family immigrated from China to the United States when Jade's mother is still young. She's often faced with discrimination and minor racism as she grew up, such at one instance when Hēiyù is not allowed to take flu shots because in the past major respiratory disease pandemic originated from where her family came from. Nevertheless, Hēiyù remained determinated to continue fighting in her education because of her mother's wishes before she passed away in Hēiyù's final year of high school. By the time her mother passed, there's no funeral home that wanted to give funeral services to Hēiyù's family. Those who offers the service even put such a high price while other customers receive a normal price. Plagued by her mother's death's, Hēiyù decided to be a mortician and build a funeral home so that nobody would face the same as her. She managed to fulfill her dream after she graduated college.

Her family name (Lù, written with 陆) means land, continent, shore, and lunarite.
Her given name (Hēiyù, written with 黑玉) means black jade. One of her friends from college decides to give her the nickname Jade.
Her family and neighbors still call her Hēiyù.
Jade's father passed away when Jade is still in elementary school due to the respiratory disease he had. It perpetuated the discrimination as people saw her family as the source of the pandemic.
Jade has her own special mapo tofu recipe and she loves to cook mapo tofu every weekend or whenever she wants to release some stress.
Jade graduated from mortuary science and since she successfully built a funeral home, it becomes one of the intern places for many mortuary students.
